review: The Infidelity Series, by Aleatha Romig

There are 5 books in the Infidelity series: Betrayal, Cunning, Deception, Entrapment, and Fidelity

Rating

The Infidelity series, which isn’t about cheating, is one of those series that stays with you long after the story has ended. I read book one, which ended in a cliffhanger, and then paused in reading books 2-5 because I was too anxious to find out what would happen next. Needless to say, when I finally got started—I binged books 2-4 in a weekend. Some people have Netflix, I have the written word.

The story spans both the east and west coasts but primarily takes place in New York and Georgia. Initially, Alexandria “Alex/Charli” Collins meets Lennox “Nox” Dimitri while she’s on vacation with her best friend and he’s at the same resort on business. Their paths cross, innocently enough, at the hotel pool and there’s an instant connection.

After an incredibly heated week with no promises of tomorrow’s, they part having agreed not to contact one another. But Nox, unbeknownst to Charlie, programs his number into her phone before they part ways.

Both hailing from very affluent families, Alex comes from old southern money. Nox is born of new money earned through mob ties via his father–though Nox’s business dealings are above board in the legitimate business world. But all of a sudden Alex’s trust fund is no longer accessible. Having recently been accepted to Columbia Law in New York, Nox’s home base, she’s left in a bind and without many options—so she thinks.

Enter Infidelity.

A unique escort service where the employees have 1 client with a 1-year contract. To say the client owns you, would be an accurate assessment.

There were a number of twists in this series, which is why I couldn’t put it down. I was left on the edge of my seat at every turn and grasping for more.

Nox, is an ass of a hero at times but his flaws only make him more endearing. Once his background and upbringing are revealed, you fall more in love with him.

Alex isn’t your classic, I was raised with money and now I want nothing to do with it. She is sincerely looking to find her own way in the world and to pursue her dreams of being an attorney. While caught between loyalty and love, she is trying to do the right thing by everyone and isn’t afraid to stand her ground with anyone crossing her path. Selfless and kind-hearted, but a force to be reckoned with in her own right—she is what Nox never knew he was looking for.

This is a captivating series that you won’t want to miss and I dare you to start and then try to stop reading. I loved the characters, the dialogue, and the suspense. While there is unimaginable wealth in the books, the plot focuses more on the characterization of what money does to people, how far they will go for it, and how love in the midst of it can be refreshing and tragic all at the same time.

Aleatha Romig has truly brought a world to life that could easily be turned into a television show. If you thought Dynasty and Dallas were entertaining, wait until you pick up these books. Now on to book 5 for me!
