4th of july cocktail hack

For many of us, we are heading into a long weekend with cook outs and hopefully, time spent with family–from a safely masked distance. As we prepare for food, fireworks, and (possibly) friends–here’s a quick cocktail hack to help save time and keep you focused on the quality time amongst your loved ones. (Or, a quick cocktail to sip as you indulge in some weekend reads.) Ingredients – Individual bottle of your favorite white wine –I tried Riesling and Moscato and found that I enjoyed the Moscato a bit more – Simple syrup –1/2 c sugar –1/2 c water – Club soda – Ice – Sugar for the rim of the glass – Strawberries – Blueberries – Mint for garnish Directions Combine…

bounty, by kristen ashley

First and foremost—I met her!!! I met Kristen Ashley at the 2016 RT Convention in Las Vegas!!! She is one of my most favorite authors, as evidenced by the fact that I’ve read about 30 of her books. I was so tongue-tied that I was only able to marginally fan-girl over her. Squee!!! (This meeting in no way influences my review of her latest book.) what went right… Bounty is a clear evolution of...

the beast, by j. r. ward

I admit I was not overly excited about yet another book about Rhage. He’s not my favorite character, but I guess Ward can’t always write about Wrath and Zsadist. But wait, why not…Ok, I digress. Anyway, boy was I in for a treat! The Beast far exceeded anything I was expecting. Rhage and Mary have been going through a difficult period in their marriage—relatable and one of the things I love about Ward’s books....

we're getting a facelift!

Hello faithful followers! In an effort to bring you more benefits, including contests and giveaways–we’re undergoing a facelift and a bit of a behind-the-scenes relocation. You don’t have to do anything, (I don’t think…) but over the next few days/weeks our site may be a little ‘wonky’ (that’s a technical term) and it’s going to look a bit different in the short-term. But don’t worry, we’re working on...

last kiss, by jessica clare and jen frederick

So many series, so little time! My TBR (to be read) pile never dwindles! Last year I discovered the RT Booklovers Convention and what a windfall it proved to be in so many ways! New friends, great sessions, fantabulous authors, and books galore! It’s no wonder I will be back again this year in Vegas. One of the books that made its way into my over-weight suitcase last year, was Last Kiss, by Jessica...

the bourbon kings, by j.r. ward

Wow! I read this book in 2 days. I picked it up and couldn’t put it down. This is a new contemporary series by J. R. Ward that I heard is going to become a t.v. series–congrats to The Warden! Ward describes The Bourbon Kings as a cross between Downton Abbey and Dynasty and that about nails it. Then again, she wrote the book, so she should know. Lane Baldwine is from old money; old Kentucky...

dirty rowdy thing, by christina lauren

It’s no secret, I loved Sweet Filthy Boy–really, who didn’t? But, I’m no 20-something and while the book was a lot of fun, I have to say I was a bit reluctant to keep going. Ever think that some things are good enough to stand on their own? Well, friends and the grapevine talked me into pushing forward with the series and once again, I’m glad I did! Dirty Rowdy Thing focuses on Harlow...
