4th of july cocktail hack

For many of us, we are heading into a long weekend with cook outs and hopefully, time spent with family–from a safely masked distance. As we prepare for food, fireworks, and (possibly) friends–here’s a quick cocktail hack to help save time and keep you focused on the quality time amongst your loved ones. (Or, a quick cocktail to sip as you indulge in some weekend reads.) Ingredients – Individual bottle of your favorite white wine –I tried Riesling and Moscato and found that I enjoyed the Moscato a bit more – Simple syrup –1/2 c sugar –1/2 c water – Club soda – Ice – Sugar for the rim of the glass – Strawberries – Blueberries – Mint for garnish Directions Combine…

Don’t Stay Where You’re Not Valued

It’s been a while since my last post because I have been working on a personal project that will come to fruition next week, and then I’ll be back . Truly, there are only so many hours in a day. So, while I have been diligently focusing my time elsewhere, my mind hasn’t been idle–just my blog. But there has been something weighing on my mind for a while and I just think it...

My Hypnotherapist Visit

Several people have asked how my visit to the hypnotherapist went. So I figured, why not tell the masses. I have to say, I didn’t know what to expect. The only thing I knew about being hypnotized was from cartoon lore. You know, someone swinging a pocket watch in front of a person’s face and that person becomes so mesmerized that every time someone says, ‘red,’ the individual starts barking like a dog. In...

Book Review: Fire Inside

Even if you’ve only been paying attention marginally, you would know I absolutely love Kristen Ashley books. Book Review: Entwined With You

Well, I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this book. Therefore, it’s no surprise that once I was able to download it onto my Nook–thank goodness for the immediacy of e-readers–I devoured it in one day. Yes, one day. So let’s just get to it. When last we saw Gideon and Eva they were outside his apartment because Eva had just discovered–from the police–that Gideon had murdered her childhood abuser, Nathan. (This is...

The Sarge Chronicles: My Protector

Since I often share the frustrating–yet amusing–stories about Sarge, I thought it only fair to share some of the good as well. A few weeks ago I was having a panic attack. It’s not a regular occurrence for me–thankfully–but none-the-less, it happened. While I was trying to calm myself down, Sarge came over and jumped up at me as if to say, “It’s ok.” Eventually, it was–sort of. Since the panic attack happened in...

Book Review: The Blackstone Affair

While I’ve been remiss in writing, I have not been remiss in reading. In the last couple weeks, I’ve re-read the firs 2 books in the Blackstone Affair series and then the one that was released in May. I went on to read the 3rd book in what was supposed to be the Bared to You ‘trilogy,’ Entwined With You. A few nights ago, I finished the latest in the Chaos series by Kirsten...
