I’m back! Life happened. Let’s talk about it.

I’ve been silent (on this blog) for a while. Six years, give or take. And if you’ve been here before, you might be wondering what happened.

Honestly? Life.

A big move, health stuff, job loss, and all the things that happen when you’re a woman in your 50s just trying to keep all the plates spinning. Some spun beautifully. Some crashed spectacularly on the kitchen floor. It was all worth writing about but when life is life-ing, who has that kind of time and focus?

Here’s what you need to know about where I’ve been and where we are going:

Let me reintroduce myself, I’m Tara. I’m a content marketing professional in the financial industry, or I was, until February, when I got laid off and the universe essentially handed me a giant neon sign saying, “Figure out your next chapter.”

So that’s what I’m doing.

I’m also managing diabetes, sleep apnea (does everyone have that now??), eczema, and whatever menopause decides to throw at me on any given Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and all the other days ending with “y.” I’m single (divorced) and haven’t given up on finding love (I mean, I initially started this blog because of my love for romance novels, so…). I have more fountain pens than is probably reasonable and a crochet project that has been “almost finished” for longer than I care to admit.

This blog used to be about books and food with a little bit of life thrown in. It still is. But now it’s more specifically about us— women 50 and over who are still figuring it out. Still showing up. And thriving more than ever. (And if you’re not yet 50, no matter, hang out with us anyway.)
