apple, orange, cranberry sauce

If you’re like me, you’re not a big fan of the cranberry sauce that magically retains the shape of the can it comes out of. After avoiding this side dish at every pertinent holiday, several years ago, I discovered a Williams-Sonoma recipe for apple, orange, cranberry sauce and my family and I have never looked back. While I’ve altered it a bit from the original, trust me when I say it’s every bit as delicious as the first year I made it. I am very thankful for this flavorful cranberry medley and think you will be too. Happy holidays!

the bourbon kings, by j.r. ward

Wow! I read this book in 2 days. I picked it up and couldn’t put it down. This is a new contemporary series by J. R. Ward that I heard is going to become a t.v. series–congrats to The Warden! Ward describes The Bourbon Kings as a cross between Downton Abbey and Dynasty and that about nails it. Then again, she wrote the book, so she should know. Lane Baldwine is from old money; old Kentucky...

dirty rowdy thing, by christina lauren

It’s no secret, I loved Sweet Filthy Boy–really, who didn’t? But, I’m no 20-something and while the book was a lot of fun, I have to say I was a bit reluctant to keep going. Dirty Rowdy Thing focuses on Harlow...

In a recent Twitter “author chat” with Sylvain Reynard himself, he confirmed that he is working on the 4th and final book in the series. After reading The Raven, I was less than enthused about this next installment in the series, but because I am such a huge fan of Reynard’s writing, I decided to go forth and conquer. So...

bloodkiss by j.r. ward

The Black Dagger Brotherhood (BDB) is one of my most favorite series ever. And, as evidenced by this blog, I don’t read a lot of paranormal series–2 if you’re counting. Bloodkiss is a spinoff of the original BDB books. The story is focused on a younger generation of fighters but The Brothers are an integral part of the storyline. Let’s dive in, shall we? Paradise and Craeg were introduced to us in the Warden’s (as...

hero, by samantha young

I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about Samantha Young’s, On Dublin Street. So, when I saw Hero on the NY Times Bestseller List, I took the opportunity to give it a try. I was not disappointed. On Dublin Street is now on my TBR (to be read) list. But let’s dive in to the book at hand, shall we? Hero tells the tale of Caine Carraway, a successful business mogul and Alexa Holland, a photographer’s...
