Review: Hidden, by Rebecca Zanetti

Malcolm “Mal” West is a recently retired undercover police officer. His last assignment left him physically and mentally battered. Plagued with guilt at having betrayed the closest thing he had to a brother and at the same time proud to have been part of taking down one of the most powerful mafia families in the country, he’s decided to retreat to a quieter life. But moving next door to Pippa Smith was the start of anything but quiet. Pippa has been on the run from a cult leader, Isaac and his followers, known as The Family, for years. She’s learned the art of not getting close to anyone and staying not only under the radar but completely off the grid. Living just…

Where Are the Blogs for Singles?

I’m in the process of figuring out how to live my life and reinvent myself. It’s safe to say my journey will provide a lot of fodder for posts to come–stay tuned. So, as I research other women in business, websites I like, blogs I enjoy…blogs I enjoy… Let’s stay there for a minute. One of the things I’m doing is working on my personal brand. As I scoured the web for other blogs...

TV: Scandal

In my last post I forgot to welcome everyone to the new look and feel of my blog. As many may have guessed, the photo is one I took of a flower while on my annual family trip to Hawaii. I like to think the new look and feel with the bright colors are much more representative of my personality. Friends, you be the judge. (And if you disagree, I don’t need to know.)...

Book Reviews: Romance Novel Overload

Happy New Year!!! To begin 2013, let’s start with books…books…books… As I’ve written before, I have been searching for the next Fifty Shades of Grey. God Bless

Hi readers. It’s been a while…I know. I’ve been reading–book reviews are on the way–and living life. My original intention for this post was to share all the fun things that have been going on since the holiday season started–which I may do another time–but first, I must address the tragedy of yesterday, at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT. Between Facebook posts…Tweets…and other general outpourings from the public, I’m sure it’s all been...

Book Review: The Bone Bed

I have read every single book in Patricia Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta series. The Bone Bed is book #20, yes #20. Other than James Patterson’s Alex Cross series and of course, The Black Dagger Brotherhood (which is only up to book 12), I’ve never been so devoted. Although, to be fair–I tried very hard to stay engaged with the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, but at book 17–which I couldn’t finish–I gave up. The...

Running a 5k?

This is not bragging…I repeat, this is NOT bragging… I’ve done numerous 5k’s; a 5 mile race; a 10k; a half marathon; and a sprint triathlon. The races were personal goals, the triathlon was not my idea. That went something like this:  L: Want to do a triathlon? It’ll be fun.                                              ...
